About The Poem.

I recently shared the most wonderful weekend of my life with an old friend. Even though we passed the boundaries of strictly friendship, we found something in each other that was never expected. Now that the weekend is over, all that is left for me to do is to dream . . .

When I Sleep
by Tanya W.

When darkness awakens, my body settles gently into bed.
The events of my day race rapidly in my thoughts as I close my eyes.
Slowly, I am lulled into a peaceful sleep.
I hear vibrant music - so full of passion.
I feel the warmth of the sun’s rays that grace my presence.
I see kind, adoring eyes gazing back into mine.
The air is full happiness - so much laughter.
Soft caresses are exchanged.
At this moment, life could not be any more wonderful.
I have never felt so beautiful; as I do when I am with you.
I have finally found the respect and acceptance that I have yearned for.
I eagerly listen to inspirational dreams and goals and know that
I want to be the one to be there when they are complete.
A thin line of love and friendship is crossed,
and two single souls find a home to share eternity.
Birds begin to proudly serenade the morning dawn.
Lonesome roads slowly progress into distinguished passageways.
Light peeps through my windows and I awaken to a new day.
I am ready to endure what the day has in store for me,
because I know that I am a queen, and I know extraordinary love when I sleep.

Christmas Anecdote

"Yes" said the mother to the five-year-old son, "the baby is a Christmas present from the angels"

"Well" he said, "maybe if we put him away and don't use him at all we can give him to somebody else next Christmas."

The two youngsters were dragging a large, awkward sack through the toy department of a store. They were making a lot of noise and getting in the way of customers.

The manager came up. "Now, boys," he admonished, "if you keep on being troublesome, Santa Claus won't come to your house."

"That's what you say," retorted one youngster. "Who you think we got in this sack?"

A jeweler had to go downtown to see about additional Christmas good, and left his store in charge of his son, Joey.

"You understand the price marks, Joey?" he said. "Five dots for $25, six dots for $30, etc."

"Sure father, I understand," replied the boy.

When the jeweler returned his son met him at the door. "I had good luck, father. I sold two $5 bracelets and three $30 watches."

"Yes, yes Joey, but we have no $30 watches. The highest we have i $25."

"Then the marks are wrong, father"

The jeweler lifted his eyes and hands heavenward. "Joey." he said, "God bless the flies."
